The truth will set free. But first, it will piss you off. Gloria Steinem
I love this quote. I think it’s true. We are so crystal clear about what someone else has done wrong and what the solution is but when it comes to ourselves – funny how we just don’t see it most of the time. I’m fairly new to this whole living alone thing and when my son is gone some weekends with his father (husband #1) I have alot of time for reflection. This is good and sometimes bad – see truth is a funny thing. To face it is good, to let it keep you in prison is bad.
“It’s not gossip – because it’s true”….. I don’t think there is one of us who want people knowing the TRUTH about us. There’s an avalanche of information I don’t want you to know – even though it seems like I bleed all over this blog and have no secrets.
Self Reflection – Now, this is a good thing until it becomes self obsession and then the thoughts in your head take over and cause you pain. We cannot change the past. Whether we were wrong or right, hurt or caused hurt, we cannot go back and change it. Like I’ve said before, If you can’t make peace, pray. I catch myself alot of times hearing thoughts in my head speaking “truth” about me. Some of the memories make me want to hermit myself away. Alot of times, these battles become blogs written in a way to self confess and heal but most of all write. Confession is good for the soul.
“Secrets keep people sick.” Unknown
So before we go spreading truth about other people we should first take a spritual shower and get cleaned up. If we do this slowly and purposefully God will speak to us and gently tell us what to wash off and let run down the drain of life. Let’s face our truths before we put other’s truths on display.
