Today marks my 100th post !! What a milestone. Also, today is a holiday so it is extra special.
National Teacher Appreciation Day
We got my son’s favorite teacher a Starbucks gift card and breakfast tacos along with a card. She has been instrumental in helping him survive the 9th grade. Teachers are important and very powerful in the lives of our children, homeschooling moms are teachers and so much more ! I want to focus a special note of gratitude to them today. Being a mother and a teacher is a very hard path to walk, let’s also remember that they are wives, housekeepers, chefs, bus drivers, sometimes they are even construction workers and bookkeepers! Talk about a “Proverbs 31 Woman”.
You’ve probably heard me say that EVERY day is Mother’s Day well, when you homeschool every day should be teacher appreciation day but more often it’s
“Shhh, here she comes – get back to work – day”
My son and I homeschooled with another family for a couple of semesters, there were 5 children total. I taught 1 Kindergarten and she taught the other 4 ! My job was easy. Her son said that together we made each other “Supermoms” it was a compliment I will never forget. We had good times and bad times. One particular day there was an unexpected tragedy that could have been life threatening. I watched her transform from a teacher into a doctor in a microsecond ! I will never forget her faith, courage and nerves of steel.
So, to all you teachers out there I salute you today because you are changing tomorrow.

If I had only known, I would have been a locksmith. Albert Einstein
