Our class deals with alot of deep issues. Today’s blog centers on one such issue. Codependency. This is a controversial subject and if you feel today’s post is not for you I understand. Tomorrow is Friday, I’ll try to post a joke ! But today is deep. Galations 6 tells us to help each other but not become overwhelmed by someone else’s burdens (codependency).
6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.5 For every man shall bear his own burden.6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
In the Kingdom of God there is balance. God is a God of order, the seasons are perfect proof of this fact. I submit the following ONLY if you have someone in your life that can BENEFIT from it. It is a song (again Brooke Fraser) and it is sad and haunting (beware). I also submit an image that was sent to me by another. It is haunting as well. God bless each of you (and me as well). Let us pray for one another and carry each others burdens but not become codependent.

Better – Brooke Fraser
Take my shoulder back now Your head’s too heavy for me Please don’t come around here no more ‘Cos I asked you to stop And you wouldn’t
[Chorus] I would give anything to make you better I would give anything to point you to free I would give anything to help you realize
I loved you ’til it killed me So my logic wouldn’t hurt you I know you might blame me anyway Well I’m sorry, I’m so sorry
I’ve tried all the things they told me to do Trying to close up the wounds left open by you And if I seem doubtful, distrusting…..I am You said you wouldn’t do it again You said you wouldn’t do it again
Anything just to try and help you see You ain’t helping yourself by hurting me Time to let you go, time for you to see You ain’t helping yourself by hurting me
You’re not helping yourself You’re not helping yourself by hurting me
