You’re such a girl !!

A couple nights back I jumped outside my comfort zone and attended a “Worship Unplugged” service.  For some of you this would be REALLY outside of the box….. I decided to just let go and see what would happen.  I love God and Jesus and thought singing, dancing and flag waving was just fine with me !

I got there (late cause that’s just me) and nobody even noticed me they were all worshipping alone quietly and one man was at the piano.  I pushed myself to “step out” and so I went straight down to the front where someone was lying on the floor face down – that looked like the perfect spot for me to be at this point in time.  Nothing spiritual – I just “made” myself do it. The moment I stretched out my arms in worship I began to cry.  I am not a feminine woman and I do not cry very often – I may tear up now and then but real tears are not my thing.

Pure liquid – tears and all – heaving, wailing, crying out to God to give Him every single drop of brokenness within me.  I did not care who or what anyone thought of me – I was alone with God. I’m not sure what y’all believe but I will tell you that it was better (and cheaper) than therapy – drugs – alcohol – a massage or ice cream, cake and cookies !!!  I let it all out. They covered me with a sheet and let me go, most of them strangers.  A woman (I don’t know who) came over and whispered to me that I was God’s beloved, and He wanted to hold me and dance with me.  I held her hand while I cried but I never looked up at her.

Sometimes you have to break it to fix it.

There’s more but that’s for another time. Just know ladies that God wants to be as near and personal as we will let him. If you want Him to meet you Sunday am and leave you alone the rest of the time He probably will but if you want to get closer He’s there, always there waiting for you to ask Him to come in.

He’d love to have morning coffee with you if you have time. All you have to do is ask Him to come and join you. Be warned though, sometimes He sticks His nose into your business so don’t get offended too quickly after all He did create you in your mother’s womb so He does have an opinion about most everything in your life.

Ok enough preaching ! Let me know if you want to go to the next service with me – oh, yeah I’m going back again and again.  I will be the one dancing.
