This is so awesome ! I was talking to my step-mom this past weekend.  Just discussing life, love, conflict, how women just can’t get along.  Jealousy, envy, strife, you know all the light stuff we talk about over coffee.  Ha Ha.

So, there’s someone grinching on her about mistakes that can’t be fixed and won’t be forgotten.  And she was saying that it didn’t matter who’s right or wrong.  There is no right or wrong, it’s all wrong, it’s all complicated.  Like I said earlier this week, if you can’t make peace, pray. Well, the conversation is trotting along and all of the sudden she says…

“I’m a duck.  I don’t have to be a big duck.”

Meaning, she doesn’t have to win, doesn’t have to be right, doesn’t even have to argue !   She just has to be a duck. I just cracked up.  It’s perfect, in this life when someone is hanging on to something that you can’t fix it’s a great way to look at reality.  Let the water roll off your back and keep on swimming.

PS – my sincere apologies for all of ya’ll reading this that I was an ugly duck to in the past !!! Cause, I’ve been known to argue – fight to win and hold grudges.  Please forgive me – I’m just now learning how to be a nice duck.
