I’m still chewing on yesterday’s comment – what a woman and what a testimony to encourage each of us.
“humbled without being humiliated”
“The truth that cleaned up my mess is greater than the truth that made the mess.”
“When my husband and I look back at where our marriage has come from, we don’t see a mess…we see a mess’age.”
Wow, did these statements effect you the way they did me? What wisdom !! In the last paragraph she said “If God has (or is) cleaning up your mess…..” This is of paticular interest to me because I was discussing in this week’s SMILE class with another student the exasperation of wanting so much to be able to “work it out” with our men. So, as I read the entire comment (several times) I noticed a significant piece that is missing in my situation and the situation of the other student. “We”. “We look back. We see a mess’age.” The commentor’s husband is totally in love with the precious woman of God he’s married to. There’s forgiveness, restoration and redemption.
There is a holy ache in the heart of one trying to understand the failures of two. So, God is cleaning up my mess but the times I’ve reached out to see if there is a crack in the door for the Lord to clean up “our” mess – the answer was no.
“The truth that cleaned up my mess is greater than the truth that made the mess.”
So, ladies I’m continuing to give the Lord access to work on MY mess and when He is finished with that (which will be awhile) then He can talk to me about the “us” mess.
