The Queen of England

Listening to Dr. Tony Evans on the way to work is always a joy. He is never boring and always makes you think.

So, he was describing the Queen of England and how her motorcade is given easy access through the streets wherever she goes and the Flag is flown at different levels depending on whether she is in the city (maybe country). But, he pointed out the fact that though she is treated with great respect – he called it “pomp and circumstance” she has no power. The officials simply tell her what is going on and what they are going to do about it.
She does not RULE her kingdom.
Then he turned it around on us – as he always does – and says,
“How many of you treat Jesus Christ like this?”
OUCH.
We give Jesus much ceremony, many words of praise, but keep the rule of our lives in our own control. We tell Jesus what is going on and what we are going to do about it.
Wow, this hit home so hard I came to work and clocked in late to jot this down.
Anybody else having an issue with this? I am. I need to give the keys and authority of the Kingdom back to the King and remember my place as His precious daughter.
Thanks for letting me share.
