The Cat’s Bath

 It has been awhile since I have written.  Even more I must say it’s been awhile since I’ve had anything creative happening.

Yesterday I was struck with inspiration through a phone call from a friend.

She has a sick cat, the vet says his loss of hair is an allergic reaction to something his immune system has not been able to fight off.  The cure is simple but it must be “topical”.

This means he needs a bath.

She fought him into the tub, the soap did not suds correctly because he was not wet enough.  If he would just stop fighting she could help him but he was not going to give in.    She did the best she could and then hoped he was rinsed well enough.  Once he was back on the floor and out of her reach he was still angry.   If she could only explain to him that the trauma was for his good.

As she told me this story I could hear the Lord whisper to me,

“This is you right now.”

It hurts badly to admit that He is right.

It’s time for me to take a bath.  A spiritual bath.
