Solitude

This came up in a conversation with a dear friend last weekend. We discussed how being alone is wonderful when you grab a few precious minutes or hours if you can manage it when you have children and spouses needing attention constantly. Being alone in a house all the time because you have separated from your husband and your son now lives somewhere else is different altogether. With that said, let me announce that I do not want you to feel sorry for me.  Life is good, when you are alone you must face yourself and that is the best therapy for a troubled heart and it’s free !  The Lord has blessed me with  a new friend that is an organization genius and she has helped me create a room for me to flow and be creative.  This, in turn has inspried me to re-vamp other rooms in the house so it feels more like a home.

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36-40

Most of you have heard this scripture but there is a catch placed right in the middle, you have to love yourself before you can love your neighbor – what?  Yes, if you do not love and value yourself you will have trouble loving others. This is a harsh truth.  The Lord has graciously invited me to be alone with myself and see this first hand.  What a great awakening ! There are still changes taking place and more things to face up to but overall, I’m doing pretty good.  Forgiving the woman that I had become, repenting to my husband that I am separated from and asking his forgiveness was life changing for me.  God is not finished with me yet and I look forward to each new day !
