Scream if You Want To

I was in a situation recently in which a very young child was screaming and not in the mood for consolation.

He was not throwing a tantrum, he was not injured physically.  He was injured emotionally and he was screaming out for vindication.

For someone to understand him and “fix it”.  But he does not know what “it” is and therefore no one can help.

Aren’t we like this as grown ups?

Don’t we scream at God all the time?

Scream at God’s people to listen to us VENT about what is wrong?

Don’t we tell God all the time how to fix what is wrong?

Sometimes we are just like the little boy.

If only we would

STOP

LOOK

LISTEN

Maybe then we could hear the voice of God in the quite, hear His “still small voice” over the pounding of our heart and breathe in His presence and allow Him to fill our lungs and mind with oxygen and with His Holy Spirit.

I’m sitting here, breathing in DEEP and waiting for His voice for the many decisions I face that need answers.  Ultimately the only answer is God.

He IS my answer, He is YOUR answer.

I needed to preach this to myself today so welcome aboard – I hope you can benefit from the truths in this.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen,

I will be exalted in the earth.  Psalm 46:10
