“Ready”

This second installment of movie blogs was inspired by a moment in “Snow White and the Huntsman” when the question was posed

“Do you drink to bury your sorrows or your conscience?”

Wow !  I have never heard addiction put so black and white.  I lost track of the movie for a while because I had to ponder that question.  The addictions in my life are because of sorrow, but I have met those who try most severely to bury their conscience.  Deep under the catcombs of addiction are souls screaming for help.  There is a moment in time where the escape becomes the prison.  A person takes the one drink, drag, bite, or fix that is the last time they CHOOSE to do so.  The transformation has taken place and from that moment on the choice will be how NOT to do it and the battle begins.

No one can help someone who does not want help. The counselors here at work say “ready”, someone has to be ready to change or the battle is lost.

The hunger for love is more difficult to feed than the hunger for bread.  Mother Teresa

People who drink to drown their sorrows should be told that sorrow knows how to swim.
