Reading Your Man

Most women I know can “read” their husbands.  They know what he’s thinking no matter what he’s saying.  I lack this ability, I prayed for years to get it but it never happened.  I’m not sure if it’s from being an only child, having too much testosterone in my system or just pure selfishness, but something in my wiring is off.  I nagged my husband to death trying to get him to communicate verbally with me.  He was not able to do this and I was unable to receive his communication without words.

Recently I was in a situation where a husband was sure in a mess of a situation and his wife was laughing.  I turned to her with a horrified look on my face as she whispered to me “just laugh or he’ll freak out”!  She was right, he looked up at her and he just laughed too.

He needed the reassurance from her that she knew he had it all under control,  and therefore he did.

  Oh, how I envy those of you who can read your man.  To communicate in a language without words is truly a gift from God.  Treasure it, as not all of us are blessed with it.
