Permission

I recently heard a Bible verse in a whole new way and had to blog about it.  Preaching today, I’ll send a happy weekend blog tomorrow !!

1 Peter 5:8 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. KJV (King James Version)

In order for him to devour he must have access. “Permission”.  We give him permission !!  We let him in.   We should all do a serious inventory and make sure there are no cracks in the doors and windows of our soul because if we give him an inch he’s taking a lot more than a mile ! Do not think that you are safe with a Bible, a cross, or a church membership. You are only safe by the blood of Jesus Christ covering the sin in your life. Those of you who are married pray for your husbands because he’s the main target in your family. I know it seems silly coming from me but the truth is what it is and sometimes it’s painful.

One other word worth mentioning is “walks” – not flies around in the sky or only hides in porn shops and night clubs.  He’s not a vampire he can be anywhere you are, day or night, so watch for him carefully.  He doesn’t look like a lion, think about that for a minute, if he did we’d all have easier lives !!!!
