The radio sermon began as usual, the Pastor, Erwin Lutzer, opened with a couple of jokes to lighten the mood since the title of his sermon was “Till Death Do Us Part”. I have to admit both were funny as well as true.
****************
A man began complaining about his wife to his pastor. As if words were not enough he began writing all of her faults down on a note pad. After several pages the pastor finally asked

“With all of these faults why did you marry her in the first place?”
To which the man replied, “Oh, she wasn’t like this when I married her.”
After a pause the pastor calmly said “So, what you are saying is that you made her this way.”
****************************
Although it was funny enough for me to laugh out loud my mind went back to the “old me” and how many countless hours I complained about many things in my life (probably everything if I’m honest).
If you are a complainer, then facing yourself is the hardest to do – but you are brave enough to do it.
Paula White says ” You can’t CONQUER what you don’t CONFRONT and you can’t confront what you don’t IDENTIFY.”
Ladies, the buck stops here. We must face ourselves and what we are responsible for – then, and most importantly, ask forgiveness and give forgiveness (to ourselves as well as others). Then healing can begin.
I’ll close with this….
The second ice breaker Pastor Lutzer said was….
“When he says he’s in LOVE with you, what he really means is that he is in love with himself and wants you for himself.”
Oh, how I do love this picture ! It is a shame he has only been in two blogs. I need to show him off more often ! He’s great.
