Memorial Day Weekend

For some of us this is a long weekend.  The holiday, to most, is a day off but my father is a decorated Vietnam War Veteran so to me this holiday is much more.  We are so blessed to live in this country, we have more freedom than we know what to do with and most people abuse it.  So much blood has been shed for this nation of ours, I’m proud that my father served faithfully but more than that, I’m glad the Lord brought him home.  Many children cannot say that.

 It is the

VETERAN,

not the preacher,

who has given us freedom of religion.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the campus organizer,

who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the lawyer,

who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the politician,

Who has given us the right to vote.

It is

the VETERAN

who salutes the flag.

It is the VETERAN

who serves under the flag.
