I bet I have your attention with today’s title ! On December 18th we took the day off and had a beach day. My pale skin became red that day under the beautiful African sky. I refused to say I was sun burned, I would only say that I had been “sun kissed” because all day the song by Rick Pino played in my mind…. “Kissed By Jesus”.
There’s a line in the song…. “I’ve been kissed by the Son” and I sang it in my mind over and over with “Son and Sun” being one and the same that day.
Why is this coming up today? To be honest I’ve had some “re-entry” issues into American Society, I have not been able to attend my regular church service because I have trouble talking about Africa as I am still processing the good and the bad. I miss them so much, but I’m so glad to be home.
Well, Wednesday night a friend reminded me of a large Christian meeting in San Antonio that I had completely forgotten about. Rick Pino is going to be there leading Praise and Worship. She has an extra ticket – I rearranged everything for the chance to meet her there Thursday night. Praise the Lord, I’m back in church !!!!
The moment I said “YES” the song began playing over and over in my mind. Here it is for you if you’ve never heard it.
“I’ve been kissed by love’s lips, rescued by love’s hands, forged in fire, not cheaply made.
This love cannot be slain. NO, NO, NO, NO.
I’ve been kissed by love. I’ve been kissed by the Son. I’ve been kissed by love.
I’ve been kissed by Jesus.
Your tender words they melt my heart and this melting heart will dance.
You caring touch heals me again. You’re closer than a friend.
I’ve been kissed by love. I’ve been kissed by the Son. I’ve been kissed by love.
I’ve been kissed by Jesus.
I’m so in love with you, Jesus.
I’m so in love with you, Jesus.
I’m so in love with you, Jesus.
I’m so in love with you, Jesus. “
“Kissed By Jesus” by Rick Pino
Who is that white woman? Yep, that’s me !
