I am reminded of a blog I thought about writing to you but felt it was too harsh. Since yesterday’s blog I’ve decided to expand on it and so here goes…… I was a a church service last month and in line to receive prayer. The woman ahead of me was complaining loudly about her ex (or soon to be ex). I do not make it a habit to eaves drop but she was talking loudly as most people do when they feel they are “right” and they want their opinion agreed with. I began to pray for her in an attempt to stop listening – this took awhile. Her toddler son thought it was taking too long so he began making noise from the back of the auditorium and as I turned to look he broke free from his keeper and bolted toward the groups praying. That little man ran up to each group and would look up to find his mother. He finally found her and gave a squeal of excitement as he grabbed onto her leg and loved on her. I watched as she glanced down at him, and then returned to explaining (complaining) about what she needed prayer for. I stood there and watched her little boy cling to her. I never did have a clear understanding of what she wanted God to do, I saw an opening with a group of women and headed that direction.
What stuck with me was exactly what I said in yesterday’s blog. Ladies, no matter what is going on in our lives with adults we need to be sure our focus on our children is clear. Focus on the one clinging to your leg and begging for your affection. I left church, went shopping. Something stirred in me so I pulled out my smart phone and made the following note.
January 7, 2012 “We need to raise our sons so that they don’t grow up to be ex husbands”
Also the quote of the day is from a Boy Scout Leadership Manual, I do not know who said it but it’s good It is easier to build a boy than to repair a man.
Have a great weekend, hopefully Monday will be funny and not so deep!!! Talk to you later!!!
