“Happy Anniversary”

My daughter and her husband have been married 4 years this week !  She chose to marry right out of high school and to those who think that is the wrong choice I say that she is happy. They are stronger each year they are together.  They are buying a house this summer and both love their jobs. I remember when she was 9 and he was 13 they were so close and we all joked about them being married one day. As we talk and look back I find it amusing that none of us were really joking.

Last weekend I drove past the store in New Braunfels where we bought her prom dress (we spent WAY too much money on it) and a smile came over me. Her dream was to get her dress right there, go to her prom and dance.  She said she felt like a princess the way he danced with her all night.  Can any of you imagine feeling like a princess?

When her father and I got a divorce she was 9, I told God I was finished being a Christian all together, I was rebellious for a long time.  It took many arguments with preachers and finally a conversation with an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi to bring me back into the flock. I then got on my face before our Creator and I begged Him to forgive my selfishness and to please bless my children. To stop the curse of divorce with me and bless them both with life. Life in their marriages and not death.

One married, one to go. God has proven Himself trustworthy so far. Marriage is work and I’m so pleased to see them work on everything together.  My son is even living with them this summer, he wants to learn from his big brother and help them with their house.  I know he’s learning alot because my son-in-law is a good man.
