Today is beautiful here. I think each day is more beautiful than the day before. The Lord has provided beautiful breezes following the hard rain and it helps us not to perspire so much. We had our team meeting this morning under shade by the swimming pool here. This motel complex is surrounded by a concrete wall which is common in this region. Any property of any substance is surrounded. From the road you cannot tell how beautiful this place is. We talked to the owner the first morning and he said that he has built it “brick by brick”. It is lovely and we are treated well.
Mike arrived again by foot telling that Ernesto will be late as there is large equipment blocking the road and there is much water so leaving the community center is not happening as of yet.
When Ernesto arrived his pants were rolled up and he was barefoot, which is not how we have seen him in the past. His morning was filled with frustration as both vehicles got stuck and getting everyone to the church was difficult. But once again, he persevered and all is ready for us.
At the church the children are doing very well with the choreography and are now even learning English words to some of the songs. It is glorious to hear them sing and see them enjoy the songs and dances. Again, after choir we split into the same 3 classes. Spilling out into the neighborhood as the day before. Lorraine invited me to sit in her women’s class toward the end and I was able to witness the powerful move of God in our midst. There was an older man standing beside a tree just close enough to listen and he was hanging on every word she was teaching. The message that the Lord has given her is universal so I am sure he was getting much if he was paying attention. So hungry for the word of God he was listening to a woman speak to women, this is powerful. When class was over Lorraine and Ophelia (our interpreter) went over to pray for him. He gladly accepted prayer and got down upon his knees and removed his hat to receive from God. It was beautiful, she prayed for his eyesight to be restored and for him to hear from God. His name is Manuel and he will come to church on Sunday. He is happy there is a church so close to him.
The final class of the day is women’s dance class. Lorraine has been teaching the women how to dance before the Lord with scarves. I have forgotten to write about this class before as I get so involved with them snapping pictures. While the children play outside I snap pictures of all these beautiful women Praising the Lord. It is the most glorious way to end the teaching day.
