Bob’s Blessing

I was recently reminded of Nehemiah in the Bible.  (Found in the Book of Nehemiah).  He was a faithful cup bearer to the heathen king but in his spare time he had a deep desire to return to his beloved Jerusalem and rebuild the wall protecting the city.

One day the king asked him – what’s the matter with you, you are not usually this down trodden.  Well, king…. Nehemiah then told the king of his heart’s desire to rebuild his beloved city’s protective wall.  To which the king says…. well, how much money and time would you need to make this happen?

Like Johnny on the spot – Nehemiah was ready.  PREPARED! He knew exactly and he told the king right then.  Poof !  The king said, okay, I can make this happen and here are letters from me to protect you in your travels and give you access to whatever you need. Have a good time, see you when you get back.

Basically, time off with pay !

The moral of this little Bible Story paraphrase is to know what you want so you know what it is when it shows up.  Be prepared.

Why did I think of this out of the blue… well, last week Bob was told my a close friend “I want to buy you a motorcycle, decide what you want and start looking.”

Bob already knew what she wanted – she stood up Sunday Morning and testified to the entire congregation that a blessing was on the way and she was on the lookout for it to show up in the flesh.  A fellow church member said, well, for some reason the Lord had me snap a photo of this flyer the other day and it sounds “exactly” like what you are looking for.

Ladies – be ready to answer when someone asks you what you want, what you need, what you are hoping for.   Sometimes God is just waiting for you to ask.

Oh, and the PS of this story – the trike and trailer in perfect condition cost LESS then the friend was planning to bless Bob with  – so God is even in the bargain business !   Ain’t she pretty?
