At the Back of the Class

For those of you who follow this blog that were apart of our Women’s Homeschool Bible Study on Friday mornings at 10.  You probably remember me always saying “I’m at the back of the class”.  I had just gone through one divorce and married the rebound guy within a year and I felt like chopped liver in a room with all of you – but I came anyway.  I learned and I grew.

This picture is Ginger (the horse), Robert and Granny from those days.

I treasure that time of study and fellowship and encouragement during my homeschooling years. It was the BEST decision I could have made for my second child, David, although I struggled every day feeling like failure – but he is grown, married very young and has the attitude that says “CAN DO” – he faces things and just takes a breath and refuses to be defeated.  He is a warrior and a man of God.

The following is a comment from TK, one of us from the Bible Study Group – I am truly grateful for her comment of encouragement and I love how she describes the front and the rear in the Army of God.

We can ALL learn from her post – to help each other.

If you are having a bad day – reach out.

If you are having a good day – look around and find someone to lift up.

My Beloved Sister-in-Him,

Please forgive me if this is selfish…. but I read your blogs like parables and rather than dwelling on your burden, and I say to myself “God did this or that for her” and then I hope He will do the same for me. I hope… I don’t know, but I hope.

And I don’t think it matters if the battle is big or small; the principals are still the same, our God is still the same. Combat is combat. We are all on the battlefield playing by the same set of rules.

I have spent my whole life on the front-line and carried a many heavy burdens – that’s why I’m so short you know [wink]. So, I can tell you this: Those on the front-line know there is no such thing as a petty threat. How then could anyone say “that is petty” knowing that the enemy is cunningly seeking to devour their ally?

Hope is restored when those in back say to those in the front “BEHOLD! By the grace of God, I have smitten the enemy!” And the roar of thunder from those in back who raise their voices remind those in the front THEY ARE NOT ALONE and the spirits of those in the front are restored, even made stronger than before.

Keep the battle-cry coming! Pound those drums Sister! It’s war out here…

Lovin’ you, lovin’ Him

the battle is real
