An Unbroken Heart

When the word “broken” is spoken (u dig my rhyme) it normally brings to mind glass – or pieces to be more specific. So, when one thinks of a broken heart, one might think of it torn in two pieces or ripped in half …. so, if repair was to be done on this brokenness there would be many scars where each piece was carefully placed back together with some sort of adhesive.
I blog today of a different perspective…… a hope of “beauty from ashes” that came to me so quietly that I almost missed it.
Pieces do not have to be infused together revealing scars if they are put together by the Master Craftsman, Jesus. Imagine, if you will, a creation that is a patchwork of remarkable colors infused with such majesty and grace that she is breathtaking. Her very skin reflects many “pieces” placed together in perfect harmony to reveal her true nature that even defies the evolution theory. She is real, but let me expand a little……
I have walked through brokenness for over a year now – you have walked with me. I have considered myself a fragile pile of glass fragments that the Lord would somehow put back together like a stained glass window. Now, this is a precious thought to be compared to a stained glass window after reconstruction….. but the Lord spoke to me, not about “reconstruction” but about “re-creation”. I can be re-created into something of beauty not re-cycled, not re-assembled, truly re-created.
When I allowed this thought to invade my spirit I overflowed with joy – to think of my inside to be transformed into a new creation – then, as I began to meditate on this, I closed my eyes and I saw a beautiful Giraffe stand tall in the African sun and I gasped at how magnificent she was.
Now, let’s be clear here, I did not see her in real life – she stood up tall and proud in my mind. The portrait of her enveloped me as I took in the beauty of the “patch work” of her skin – many different shapes and pieces that were created to be HER – she was not broken yet she holds pieces together by the creative work of our Master. She is unbroken, not repaired, she is created to be who she is, as she is – with pieces forming a whole.

This is what I want my life to be as of NOW – re-created, a new creation in Christ Jesus to be fully whole with the pieces of my life forming together to make the skin of my testimony speak of Hope, Healing and Happiness.
Let it be so, God, please let it be so.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf; Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

PS – the reason that she defies the evolution theory is that there is a valve in her neck that closes when she bends to drink – if the valve did not exist she would die when her long throat bends completely over and collapses so that she can take in water and then raise her head for that water to reach the rest of her body. This valve could not have evolved, it had to be created as is to work or her ancestors millions of years ago would have died out before they could have come up with an answer – evolution could explain the long neck growing slowly but not the valve, which would not be needed until the neck was long…. Not a sermon, against evolution, just something to chew on.
