A Request For Help (Donations For Africa)

I made a few promises in Africa that I have had difficulty in keeping.  It is weighing heavy on my heart so I’m going to share with you and if you would like to help, okay.  If you would not like to help please do not be offended  by my request.

I promised Brother Lima Cumba Cumba (seen here on the far right in the stripes)  that I would do my best to send him “some” funds to help him get a driver’s license.  It is expensive there – $400.00 US dollars.  I have had no luck to find an organization that I can funnel the funds through and therefore I am going to simply send him the money.  I’ve been told (by my fellow Americans)  this is not wise as needs are great there and he will probably not obtain a license but I feel the need to send him funds none the less.  Ever since we stood together in Durban, South Africa and watched the boys choir I felt Lima should get a license so he can travel with the children in his music school.  His music school is finished construction now and it is heavy on me to keep my promise.

Kayode & Ofelia asked to send back two Study Bibles in English.  One King James Version and one New

International Version (I would like to send her a woman’s devotional Bible as well).  This is the couple that I taught to make soap, she was Lorraine’s interpreter for the women’s classes.  They are praying for God to get them here to Texas this Christmas.

My budget is tight and so far I have $100.00 saved for the above requests.  And a box filling with soap books to send Ofelia with the Bibles.   Your donations would not be tax deductible, and you would have to trust me with your money.  But, I can promise you that anything you give will go straight to Manesa & Maputo, Mozambique, Africa.  Thank you for your consideration.

PS – I also have two dear friends who are raising money for a mission trip to Russia email me for info if you are interested in helping them.  Those donations will be tax deductible as they are going with their church.
