A Poem From Africa

Love is a man in worn out shoes

I hear everybody else’s music – where is my song

Surely there are words within me to express to You how I feel

Spirit, flesh, blood and bone

There are mysteries within me still unknown

How could You love the mess I’ve made here

The hope in me pushing forward while every thought is standing still

Glorious declaration that You could save a wretch like me

Take me Jesus, wrap Your hands around mine

Tell me my life has value

That I am worth more than I would pay for myself
