A Four Year Old Flashback

How was your Thanksgiving?  Mine was great !  There was a wonderful memory made between my daughter and I.  I will share it with you and she will be irritated at me.  It will be great !

We were all at the table visiting and having a great time when a little girl about age 4 went stomping down the hall and began to beat on a door and holler loudly.  This door was closed up tight and there were plenty of boys playing on the other side, why she was locked out I don’t know but she was not going to be locked out for long.  I love it when a girl is determined.

My daughter and I watched her for a few minutes and as the boys let her in I giggled and asked

“Do you think her husband is in there?”

Now, for those of you who do not get this perfect little moment in time, my daughter was 4 when she met her husband.  I’ve heard her bang on so many doors it’s funny. He’s four years older so most of their growing up life she was in his way but things changed at some point and now they are on their 4th year of marriage.  I’m so proud of them.

But I do remember the days when she was yelling at him or he was trying to get away from her.  They were quiet a pair back in the old days.  It is so sad now – none of us have pictures of them together growing up.  The only one I can find is at one of her birthday parties, she is unwrapping gifts looking overjoyed he is about 12 on the couch looking like he would rather be playing video games !
