A Dog’s Life

In the top three categories of stress before my recent move my dog, Roxie, was the most important.  The situation was number three but her well being was suffering.  She was living as an inside dog without seeing me for many hours each day.  Inside, because she had escaped from her pen from every way I had devised to contain her.

I tried to find her a different home without any luck. I finally prayed about her situation and a solution to help me get out of my situation with her being such a burden.  Soon after I prayed I saw my neighbor’s daughter walking by with a great big white Laborador Retriever.  Turns out she walked and babysat dogs for friends and neighbors!

God’s funny like that.  Answering a prayer from a completely different direction than you expect.

So, when my step mom told me to consider moving I asked God His opinion.  I’m tired of running into brick walls in life so now I ask and wait for an answer (no answer is considered a “no or later” in my new normal).

There were not very many places in the paper willing to take pets but of the few i checked on one stood out far above the rest.

A yard bigger than the actual inside footage. A grounds keeper to take care of ALL yard work (did I mention this was number two of my top three stressors) and best of all after the landlord talked with me he said there would be no need for a pet deposit (if you haven’t guessed money is the first of my top three stresors).

So I want to give a testimony about prayer.  Don’t tell God what you want Him to do to fix it, ask Him what He wants to be the next step on your path. His answer may surprise you.

Here is Roxie enjoying her new yard. And below is our recent guest enjoying the sizae of the big yard. Fender, my son’s dog, the landlord said he can come on the weekends that my son comes home.

Have a great weekend.  I hope you get blessings and surprises from yourborayer requests.
