“WANT”

Psalms 23:1 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not (want). 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall (follow) me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

—- Praise God, this is probably one of the most read scriptures in His Word and boy it sure is packed tight with jewels of blessings, just look at four the words  want, goodness, mercy and follow.—>

Want—a primitive root; to lack; by implication, to fail, want, lessen:–be abated, bereave, decrease, (cause to) fail, (have) lack, make lower, want.—>

Just this word want, lack—- the state of needing something that is absent or unavailable. Everything we need, I mean “everything” is found in Christ, there is nothing that He has not already provided for us that we can’t have, tap into to, claim, walk in, and I’m not talking the name it claim gospel, I’m talking what ever we “really” have need of. There is no lack in Jesus Christ, if there is something that we “feel” we don’t have and “really” need then we need to really look deeper and see what our motive is for that particular thing. I believe that if God will be glorified in it then we will receive it, and it will not be consumed upon our lusts.

Goodness— good (as an adjective) in the widest sense; used likewise as a noun, both in the masculine and the feminine, the singular and the plural (good, a good or good thing, a good man or woman; the good, goods or good things, good men or women), also as an adverb (well):–beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, X fair (word), (be in) favour, fine, glad, good (deed, -lier, -liest, -ly, -ness, -s), graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh (best), loving, merry, X most, pleasant, + pleaseth, pleasure, precious, prosperity, ready, sweet, wealth, welfare, (be) well ((-favoured)).

When we get into perspective the Kingdom of God first and foremost then all will Supernaturally fall into place. Goodness and mercy encompass a lot, the goodness is His grace, which is giving us what we don’t deserve, but yet we do receive it because we are the righteousness of Jesus Christ, that is where our “true” identity is. So all the words following goodness just read them again and meditate upon them and receive what your Lord has given to you.

Mercy— kindness; by implication (towards God) piety: rarely (by opposition) reproof, or (subject.) beauty:–favour, good deed(-liness, -ness), kindly, (loving-)kindness, merciful (kindness), mercy, pity, reproach, wicked thing.

Mercy of course is not giving us what we do deserve, we all deserved to die in our trespasses and be separated eternally from God. But and thank God for the word “but” —(nevertheless)—2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So even though we may fall sometimes (but we don’t stay down) there is a nevertheless that is there to continue to extend “mercy” towards us because of that righteousness that we are in. That is His kindness and favor towards us.

Follow—a primitive root; to run after (usually with hostile intent; figuratively (of time) gone by):–chase, put to flight, follow (after, on), hunt, (be under) persecute(-ion, -or), pursue(-r).

I love the word “follow” Jesus told Simon (Peter) and Andrew to follow Him, and instantly  they followed leaving everything behind. When we choose to answer the call of Jesus and “follow Him” then Goodness and Mercy will “follow us”,  they will follow us to the point that we are being overtaken by them, we are being pursued by Goodness and Mercy, we are being hunted by Goodness and Mercy, we are being chased by Goodness and Mercy, this my brothers and sisters should be “our” attitude, mindset, hearts desire, drive, whatever you want to call it, towards God, because that is how He is towards us, even while we where yet sinners God loved us, that is true love, receive that love today and walk in ALL that GOD has for you and let it overtake you and catch you.

Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Be blessed, in Christ, John.
