“IF”

I have been praying about something serious lately, something solitary, important and private.  By now you know that my relationship with God is slightly unorthodox and so I wait in expectation to hear from Him in many different ways.  The Bible says he “walked” with Adam in the garden and so I take that literally as I request to Him that He walk with me.  I pray for His pillar of cloud to guide me by day, and His pillar of fire to guide me by night.  He answers me.

The other morning my prayer was “okay, so are we really going to to do this”  He answered by a thought in my head and it said……

“Well, if We are going to…….then……. “

The big word here is “IF”.  You see, I believe that God is waiting for me to make the decision to do it or not and then He will guide me depending on which path I choose.  Just like I would do with one of my children.  I will not make the decision for them, but I will help them in any way that

“they allow me to”.

A running theme on this blog is “ACCESS”.   Where we want help, guidance, healing, restoration and anything else – we have to give God access.

The Bible says that He stands at the door and knocks – so this means that YOU have to let Him in.

If you let Him in, His love will flow in you, through you and out of you.  You will be able to face whatever you need to face because you will no longer be alone.

A friend recently sent me this quote and song from the band Third Day.  I love how it describes God’s love as a

River

Fire

Rock

“When I think of a river I think of something that is constantly flowing. It’s dependable, it’s powerful, and it cuts its own path. God is a lot like that, and his love is like that, it goes where it goes and it’s impossible to stop it.”  -David Carr from Third Day
